Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Lakewood South Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park. Mr. Prescott was born on April 2, 1929 to the late James Matthew "Massey" and Carrie Howell Prescott. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Cutrer Prescott, daughter-in-law Debra Dear Prescott, parents and 8 siblings; Jessie, Marvin, Vester, Verna, Carl "C.J.", Harold, Herbert, and Wilma.Mr. Prescott was a dedicated employee of the Illinois Central Railroad until his retirement in the late 1980's. During his retirement years he enjoyed caring for his beloved birds Roro, Max and Tweety. Mr. Prescott is survived by his children, Thomas Eugene Prescott of Harrison, AR, John Larry Prescott of Jackson, MS, Wayne Lamar Prescott of Huntsville, AL, and Sherry Elizabeth Hamilton (Jimmy) of Jackson, MS; brothers, Alton "Ray" Prescott of Georgetown, TX and Billy Prescott of Baton Rouge, LA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
