Gwendolyn Reed Daniels was born on August 15, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother, Jessie Reed, and father, John Reed, preceded her in death. She had three sisters, Ida, Dorothy and Carol Ann Reed. She had three brothers Emmitt, John and Henry Reed.
Gwendolyn believed in Christ and was raised in the Friendly Temple Church of God in Christ.
Gwen attended Raymond Elementary school, Phillips Upper-Grade Center and Wendell Phillips High School. She attended Harold Washington College.
Gwen married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Daniels and from this union, she had three children, Joseph, Edward and Carol Ann. Also, she raised her first grandchild Ebony Reed, as her own.
She began her career at Spiegals warehouse. She also worked as an operator at Illinois Bell Telephone, the United States Labor Department for fifteen years, then worked for the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court for seventeen years where she retired.
Gwen leaves to cherish her memory her husband Joseph Daniels, her sons Joseph and Edward, daughters Carol Ann and Ebony, her beloved Brian (BJ), grandsons Julian, Anthony, granddaughter Jessie, great-grandchildren Jheniya, Melody, Layden and Joseph Ray. Also a host of relatives and friends
