Grace RichGrimesGrace Rich, 85, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, November 9th, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Grimes United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, November 12, at Grimes United Methodist Church. Private interment will be held at a later date. Grace was born on June 3rd, 1932, in Kenosha WI. Grace and Jim met in Calumet MI, and had a very loving marriage of 56 years. They spent many of their years raising their family in Duluth MN, where Grace owned her own upholstery shop. They later moved to Webster City where they owned a Ben Franklin store. Since retirement they have been part of the Grimes community for the past 18 years. Grace was very creative and spent a lot of her time working on crafts and sewing projects. Grace loved her family and inspired many with her positive attitude. Grace is survived by her loving husband, James Rich of Grimes, her son, Jeff Rich (Rhonda) of Webster City, her daughters, Janet Hansen (Steve) of Mason City and Kathy Soloman of Grimes; brother, Dale Crawford (Phyllis) of Colorado, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Russell & Queenie Crawford, six siblings, and son-in-law, Michael Soloman. Contributions in Grace's memory can be directed to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
