This obituary is administered by:
Robinson, GordonGordon Howard Robinson "Papa" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday August 29, 2017, after a short but courageous battle with his third round of cancer.Gordie was born on October 24th, 1934 to Earl Robinson and Margaret (Conto) Robinson on the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Reservation in Wisconsin. Gordie married the love of his life Geraldine Querveld Barthels in October of 1955. Gordie instantly became the loving father of Gerry's two boys Russell and Rodney. Together they had one son Roger and a daughter Tammi. They resided in Berlin Wisconsin where Gordie was employed by West Side Garage as an Auto Body Mechanic for 28 years. Gordie went on to enjoy his days driving school bus and the cab for Mascoutin Transportation. His hands worked very hard to provide for his family, but had the softest touch that cradled many babies. When he wasn't working, Papa spent his time loving and caring for his grandchildren and carried the tradition on with his great-grandchildren. He introduced them to Mr. Johnny Verbeck and filled them all with song and giggles. There was not a crying baby he could not calm with the beat of his heart while holding them on his chest. Every child that raced him to his favorite chair knew they would be tossed out by an arm and a leg.Gordie never let a moment pass without sharing a story of times past or a joke. He enjoyed nothing more than a good meal and being with his family. Gordie had a love for old country music, if it wasn't playing on the radio he was entertaining everyone with his guitar. He loved to venture out to see a good race or settle in his chair at home and watch the races on TV. He loved to travel with his good friend Peter to Texas to visit his newly-extended family. He is survived by the most beautiful woman in the world his loving wife, Gerry. The new girl in his life Daisy, his cat. He is further survived by his children, Russell Barthels, Rodney (Lenny) Barthels, Roger (Wendy) Robinson, Tammi Gaab and De Anna Lueptow; step mother, Roberta Oshkosh Robinson; sisters, Lois Haskins and Gen Sullivan; half-brother, Roland Robinson; grandchildren, Brent Barthels, Amber (Joe) Rozek, Sara Barthels, Tyler (Amanda) Robinson, Alexandria (Ross) Johnson, Kelsey (Marty) Trochinski, Lindsey (Dave) Robinson, Brady (Rocki) Gaab; and great-grandchildren, Kya and Addison Barthels, Aubree and Ariana Rozek, Harrison, Ruby and Etta Trochinski, Myles and soon to make his arrival into the world Jack Johnson. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, brothers, Fritz Robinson, Earl Robinson Jr, Charles Robinson; half-brother, Earl Robinson; step sister, Cathy; step daughter, Rochelle; son-in-laws, Scott Gaab and Timothy Lueptow; grandson, Keegan Robinson and his dear friend Jack Broderick. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 and also on Wednesday September 6, 2017 from 10-11:00 a.m.at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin.
