Gloria Strahl, age 65, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Albuquerque.She was born on April 14, 1948, in Rociada to Ruben Eugene Garcia Sr., and Brenilda Gallegos. She was employed at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute as a human resource specialist. She was also involved with the Woodmen of the World as Secretary of the Lodge 2 in Las Vegas.She was a Catholic and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ruben Eugene and Brenilda Garcia, two infant brothers: Robert and Johnny Garcia, grandson: Tim Strahl Jr.She is survived by son and daughters: Tim Strahl (Louise), Cheryl Urrutia (Dale Vigil) both of Las Vegas, and Sonya Schafer (Randal Schafer) of Leesville, La; brothers: Ruben Garcia Jr, (Corrine) of Rociada; Leo Garcia (Carmen) of Las Vegas; sisters: Viola Martinez (Levi) of Los Alamos; Bernice Ortega (Ben) of Rociada; grandsons and granddaughters: Justin, Jason, Tiffany and Vanessa Schafer all of Leesville; goddaughter: Valerie Sanchez (Johnny) of Albuquerque; special nephew: Mike Garcia (Connie), compadres: Juan Vigil (Dolores) and family all of Las Vegas, and by numerous other relatives and friends.Rosary services were held on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church with Funeral services following on Saturday. Father George V. Salazar served as celebrant. Interment took place at Santo Niño Cemetery in Rociada, with the following serving as casket bearers, Mike Garcia, Robert Garcia, Dennis Ortega, Anthony Duran, Leo Garcia Jr, George Martinez, Justin and Jason Schafer.
