Gloria Adams BallA memorial service celebrating the life of Gloria A. Ball will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, April 17, 2017, at St. Timothy Episcopal Church, Alexandria, with Reverend Rich Snow officiating, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Visitation will be observed from 12:00 noon until time of service.Gloria Adams Ball passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on the morning of Wednesday, April 12, 2017.Gloria was born on August 25, 1926 to the late Stella Young Adams and Charles Ramage Adams, Sr. of Winnsboro, LA. She attended L.S.U. in Baton Rouge, where she became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and earned her "MRS" degree, when she married the late Walter L. "Sonny" Ball of Alexandria. Upon graduation, she and Sonny moved to Laurel, MS., where they spent 55 of the happiest years of their lives. Gloria was very involved in the Laurel community and an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church. In 2003, Gloria and Sonny moved to Alexandria to be closer to family.She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; her parents and a brother, C.R. "Buddy" Adams, Jr.Gloria is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ball; her son, David Ball and wife, Teresa; four grandchildren, Blake Duplass, Stella Duplass, Derek Ball and Jamie Ball Schmidt and husband, Zach; sister in law, Matilda "Tillie" Adams and children, Johnny and Glenn.In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen St. Timothy Episcopal Church, 2627 Horseshoe Drive, Alexandria, LA, 71301, for memorial contributions.To extend online condolences to the Ball family, please visit us at www.hixsonbrothers.com.
