Glen J. Shedenhelm, age 90, of Tawas City died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City. Glen was born on July 7, 1923. He proudly served our country with the United States Army for two years serving during World War II. Glen married Mary Scheafer, she preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 1981. He was a fork lift driver for Tawas Plating for several years before retiring in 1974. Glen volunteered his time with the Tawas Police Department as a neighborhood watch volunteer. Glen loved walking around flea markets and fruit stands and enjoyed smelt dipping, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and listening to his son-in-law, Jimmy, play the guitar and sing. He is survived by his children, Donna and her husband Jimmy Champagne, and Jackie and her husband Adam Torres; his sister, Clara Ranger; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is also survived by step daughters, Betty Hopkins, Bonnie Nichols, Barbara Gregory, Bernice Bates, Evelyn Bates and Cheryl Hart. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at Memory Garden Cemetery in Tawas City, Michigan.
