Gertrude GallowayMARION: A truly wonderful woman, mom, grandma and great- grandmother (Gigi) passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 5, 2017. She was born on October 1, 1926 to Jacob and Ida (Berringer) Dietsch in Marion, Ohio. She attended Shrock school and graduated from Harding High School. She was very proud to have been the city "jacks" champion for several years and also did synchronized swimming in high school. She married Arthur Galloway on April 26, 1947 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage before he passed away in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; May Ellis, June Kemmerly, Grace Laucher and Esther George and her brother; George Dietsch. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and lived for her family and close friends, visiting those in nursing homes or who were ill as often as she could and putting others before herself. She is survived by her daughter; Ann (Marvin) Seiter, grandmother to Stephanie (Mike) Barber, Ryan (Brittany) Seiter and Eric (Molly) Seiter and Gigi to Breanna, Braxton and Brady Barber, Zoey, Peyton and Grayson Seiter, Hayden Seiter and Logan Clemons. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; JoAnne Galloway and Betty Dietsch and many adoring nieces and nephews along with several special friends she had known for many years. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
