Geraldine "Dene" Swinehart, age 67, passed away peacefully in her home on November 26, 2014, with her children at her side. She was born on July 10, 1947 in El Centro, California. In earlier years, she did clerical work in the family business, Royal Electric, and then later worked at the commissaries of both local military bases. Dene was a devoted bingo player, loved going to the casino, and enjoyed family gatherings. Her edgy sense of humor will be greatly missed.Dene was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Jay Roach and sister, Sherry Figueroa. She is survived by her mother, Harriet "Jerry" Roach of Yuma; brothers Cecil (Robin) Roach of Yuma and Dennis Roach of Texas; her two children, Ronnie (Julie) Swinehart and Rhonda (John) Givens; grandchildren, Melissa Quintero, Lauren Rodriguez, Rebekka Perez, Jocelyn Eischen, Anna Mainland, and Daniel Mainland; great-grandchildren, Conner, Kalysta, Micaylee, Zaiden, David, and Danny; and many nieces and nephews.No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in early 2015.Our family wishes to extend deep gratitude to Hospice of Yuma, Eva D'Avela, and the wonderful staff and residents at Catalina Square Apartments. You were all a blessing during a difficult time.
