Gerald T. Boger, age 69, a lifelong resident of Whittemore, died on Monday, June 13, 2011. He was born on March 18, 1942 to the late Lyndon and Helen Boger (nee Bessey). Gerald graduated from Whittemore High School in 1962 and later worked for Valeron/Valcraft as a foreman and more recently for Warner Excavating until 2000. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. Gerald was a charter member of the Tawas Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, whom he married on April 27, 2002 in Whittemore; daughter, Carrie (Paul) DesJardins of Tawas City; son, Gerald Thomas Boger Jr. of Fenton; daughter, Sheryl (Brad) DeWyse; and three step-children, Douglas (Donna) Bennett, Bonnie (Steve) Netherton and Stacey Bennett, all of Canada. Gerald is also survived by three grandchildren, Katlyn, Danielle and Cole; three step-grandchildren, Jared, Jamie and Cole; and his sister, Shirley (Floyd) Shaffer of Vassar. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy, in 2001. Private services were arranged by Buresh Funeral Homes, Inc. of Tawas City.
