Gerald Glenn Harvey1936-2017Gerald G. Harvey, 80, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017.Gerald was born on September 29, 1936 in Hornersville, Missouri to the late Ernest E. and Nellie Harvey. After leaving Missouri, Gerald's family moved to Sweeny, Texas where he spent his childhood. After high school, Gerald joined the
U.S. Navy where he discovered his love of flying. During his military career, Gerald moved throughout the country and aboard. In 1970, Gerald was asked to join the prestigious Flying Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels as a Crew Chief. During his tenure as Crew Chief, Gerald was able to fly with some of the best pilots in the U.S. Navy. The relationships Gerald built while in the Blue Angels would be everlasting.After Gerald retired from the U.S. Navy, he went to work for Air Products and Chemicals in Pace, Florida. It was then that he joined the Ensley Masonic Lodge. During retirement, Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Gerald never met a stranger and would always lend a helping hand to those who needed it. Gerald loved his family and faithfully attended his grandchildren's sports games/activities. Gerald was a member of the Blue Angels Alumni, Blue Angels Association,Ensley Masonic Lodgeand the NRA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Harvey; mother, Nellie Harvey; brother, Donald Harvey; sister, Marcella Garner; and son, Alan Ray Harvey Gerald is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Greg Harvey and Dale G Harvey and family; brother, Larry (Nancy) Harvey and family; sister, Mary (Tim) Mooney and family; grandchildren, Kendall Harvey, Bryce Harvey and Makenna Harvey; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 12noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev.
