George Abner Walker, Jr. 1929 ~ 2016 Formerly of Pass Christian Former Pass Christian resident, George A. Walker, Jr, 87 died Friday, November 25, 2016 at his home in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born on June 27th, 1929 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania to Ann Cotter and George A. Walker, Sr. Mr. Walker served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He had over forty years federal service, holding various positions, including hydrographer, with the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office at Stennis Space Center. He and his deceased wife, Rita, enjoyed many wonderful summers on the beaches of Pass Christian and were active Hospice volunteers. He is survived by his son of 43 years, Nick.
