George grew up in the Sunset District of San Francisco. At the young age of 17 he joined the Navy and served on the Battleship USS Iowa. During that time he was part of the occupying force in Tokyo at the end of WWII. After returning home George and his brother in-law Harry owned/operated two hardware stores in the sunset district.

George loved his family and his ship very much. Dad you will be thought of everyday and in our hearts forever!
