gayle Honea CornwellSummit, MSgayle Honea Cornwell passed away January 7, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 29, 1958 in McComb, MS., and was the daughter of Maurice Lee Honea and Camille Crum Honea of Magnolia, MS. Visitation is Sunday January 8, 2017 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am. Rev. Mike Morris will officiate with Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Summit, MS. gayle graduated from Parklane Academy and Mississippi State University. She was an active member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church and a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of McComb. She began her artist business, known as "Sister Act", in 1996 and continued to work in her studio even throughout her illness because of the great joy it brought to her and others. Gayle faced her battle with cancer with Faith not Fear and was an unbelievably strong woman that leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and color. Mrs. Cornwell is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Martin "Marty" V. Cornwell, Jr. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law; Cody and Leann Cornwell of Hattiesburg and Cutter Cornwell of Summit. She is also survived by two brothers and their spouses; Donald and Suzanne Honea and Wayne and Janice Honea of Magnolia; one sister and spouse; Glenna and Dr. Jeffery Hartsog of Jackson; two aunts, Elaine Rose of Ocean Springs and Jo Evelyn and Tony Bozung of Tacoma, WA; two nieces and their spouses; Lisa and Russ Smith, Erika and Bobby Berthelot; three nephews and their spouse; Jamie and Dana Fortinberry, Marc and Mary Honea, and Lee Honea.In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Gayle Cares Foundation, Tangipahoa Baptist Church or a .
