Wallace Gary Paul Wallace, 60, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Monday, February 27, 2017. He was born on March 19, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, to Arlene G. ("Joy") and Richard D. Wallace. He graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1974. In 1978, he graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He was then certified as a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. In December of 2001 he began his own consulting practice, GW Engineering. Gary was known for his friendliness, his smile, and his infectious laughter. He was a man of faith, a lifelong Lutheran. He loved music, and singing in his strong bass voice. He loved sports, particularly the Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball, Cincinnati Bengals football, and Cincinnati Reds baseball. Most of all, Gary loved his family. He was a devoted, loving, and supportive husband and father who took great pride in his sons and his daughter-in-law, and delight in his preschool age grandson and infant granddaughter. His constant companion was his "Other Soul Mate" Oakley, his 13-year-old Golden Retriever/Husky mix. Gary is preceded in death by his infant son Jonathan, his mother Arlene G. "Joy" Wallace, and his father Richard D. Wallace. He is survived by the woman he loved for over 40 years, his wife and soul-mate, Kimberly Plummer Wallace; his sons, Paul Wallace and David Wallace; his daughter-in-law Olivia Wallace; his grandchildren, Jacob and Natalie Wallace; his sister, Linda Wallace Bennett and Brother-in-Law, Steve Bennett; niece, Rebecca Neubig; his "Other Soul Mate", Oakley; dear friends, David Greenwell and Eddy Rajczyk; paternal aunts, Joan Wallace Howells, and Kathleen Wallace Johnson; and many cousins, friends, and business associates, too numerous to name. A celebration of Gary's life will take place on Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, the Church on Lytham Rd. The family will receive visitors for 1 hour prior to the service. A reception will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Gary may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital, Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, care ministries at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, and Lord of Life Lutheran Church (Worthington, Ohio).
