Gary L. Montoya, 57, a long time resident of Ribera went to be with our dear Lord on Oct. 2, 2014. He was born on Oct. 8, 1956, was a chef for many years and was currently employed at El Castillo in Santa Fe.Gary was loved by many friends, and his passion was music, the outdoors, and he enjoyed his freedom while enjoying his time with his Goddaughter, Janee Rubio.Gary is survived by his beloved mother, Clorinda Montoya, and father, Napoleon Montoya Sr.; four brothers, John Montoya and companion, Patty, Napoleon Montoya Jr., Marcus Montoya and wife, Patricia and Mario Montoya; his only sister Nina L. Grossetete and husband, Alfred; five nieces, Escolastica "Essie" Rubio and husband, Miguel and their children, Jayde (Henrique), Jetta, Janee, Josiah and twins, Joshua and Journey; Brandie L. Monreal and husband, Arturo and their children, Alicia, Eliana, Santiago and Jimena; Nina L. Grossetete and companion, Steve Quintana and their children Valentin, Salvador, Serenity and Nathan; Krystal Grossetete and companion, Jared Huerigo; Maria Montoya and companion, Larry Rivera. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.You will be forever missed and loved by us all.Funeral services for Gary will be held Wednesday at El Valle de Cristo Church in Ribera as follows: Rosary service will begin at 10 a.m. followed by celebration of the funeral Mass at 11 a.m.; no burial service.
