MECHANICSBURG Gary "Chip" Allen Fry passed away unexpectedly due to death by suicide on Sunday, April 13, 2014. He was born on August 28, 1954, in York, son of the late Russell and Loretta Fry, preceded in death by his son, Shaun Patrick Fry. He was a 1972 graduate of York Technical School, and was a carpenter/craftsman by trade and worked at various companies throughout his career. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors, loved trivia, collecting Pepsi Cola memorabilia, and spending time with family. Unfortunately, after the recent passing of his son Shaun due to suicide, Gary struggled to maintain his own mental health, and finally succumbed to this terrible disease of depression. It is the family's wish that attention be brought to the surface of this terrible and life threatening disease. Gary is survived by the love of his life of 32 years, his wife, Joanne; son, Allen of Camp Hill; granddaughter, Kaylee; sister, Carolyn Henry and brother-in-law, Wilbur; parents-in-law, Joseph G. Marrazzo and Nancy J. Marrazzo; many brothers and sisters-in law; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at any Santander Bank Branch to the Gary Fry Memorial Fund. Arrangements are being handled by the Neill Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisburg, PA.
