MORRISON, GERALDINE E. Geraldine E. Morrison, age 87, longtime resident of Orange, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016, in St. Raphael’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John B. Morrison. Daughter of the late Mary Scullin and William Ennis, she was born on August 2, 1929 in Lowell, MA. Gerry graduated from Lowell High School in 1947. She received her nursing degree from the Henry Heywood School of Nursing in 1950. Gerry met her husband, John while working at Charles V. Chapin Hospital in Providence, RI and they married on December 23, 1950. She worked for many years as a nurse in the Orange School System and also assisted at her husband’s pediatric practice in Orange. Gerry was active in the Mary L. Tracy PTA, Orange Congregational Church and the Orange Garden Club. She was an accomplished artist who drew and painted throughout her life. She had a special talent for design and decorating and it shined through when she made flower arrangements. In her younger years, she enjoyed tennis and later transitioned to golf. She also loved gardening, walking and had a passion for shopping. Throughout all her years, she remained independent and active. A loving mother and grandmother, Gerry leaves a son, Jeffery H. Morrison of West Haven, CT; a daughter, Jane M. Schweinshaut and her husband Mark of North Attleboro, MA; two granddaughters, Rebecca Chawarska and Sarah Morrison. She was predeceased by her eldest son, J. B. Morrison. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meetinghouse Ln., Orange, CT. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
