Frederick Francis Stewart, age 89, of Oscoda, formerly of Livonia, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw. Frederick was born on Sept. 18, 1926 in Detroit to the late Leon and Sophia Stewart. After graduating high school, Frederick served in the United States Air Force. Following his time in the service, he worked for the Engineering Society of Detroit and went on to work and retire as an engineer with Ford Motor Company after 30 years of hard work and dedication. Frederick enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, growing orchids and violets, fishing and was a member of the American Killifish Association raising killifish in the basement of his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace Stewart, whom he married on Aug. 23, 1952 in Detroit; his children, Catherine Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Dale (Gayle) Stewart, Laura (Philip) Kwasky, Keith (Joyce) Stewart and Frederick (Kelley) Stewart; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Louise Stewart. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Barbret officiating. Condolences may be offered online at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
