Franklin Howard Hemric, 80, of 275 Waterway Dr., Sneads Ferry, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013. He was born on March 13, 1933, to Fred and Ethel Hemric and was one of ten children.
Howard proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates as Plant Superintendent after 38 years of service. Howard enjoyed all sports, THE WOLF PACK, GOLF, especially Phil Mickelson, living at the beach, NASCAR and lived life to the fullest.
Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jessie Cook Hemric; son, Richard, "Ricky" Howard Hemric; parents, and six brothers and sisters.
Howard is survived by his son, Danny Hemric of Sanford; daughter, Frankie Carrigan of Raleigh; sister, Pearl Brooks of Ronda, and Nellie Sue Mathis of Elkin; brother, Troy Hemric of Florence, Ala., and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. Interment followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
