Bender Jr., Frank V.Frank V. Bender, Jr. age 64, of 424 No. Lake Street, Manitowoc, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.Frank was born on January 20, 1948 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Dr. Frank V. and Dorothy (Gibson) Bender. He attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1966. On June 23, 1990 he married the former Sharon Leuman at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Frank was employed in the late 1960's and early 1970's at Timber Lodge and The Red Bird as a bartender and he was currently employed at North Shore Liquor as a warehouse clerk. He was an avid softball player with The Red Bird and a member of St. Francis of Assisi, where he was an adult server. Frank enjoyed traveling and attending Badger Football games with his wife, as well as attending sporting events for his great nieces and nephews. He looked forward to Friday nights at Green Street Restaurant, where he spent time with his family and friends.Survivors include his wife: Sharon Bender, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: John R. and Linda Bender, Manitowoc; two nephews: Andrew, Steven and his wife Ashley and their son Brandin; a niece who was also his Goddaughter: Laura; three brothers-in-law and their wives: Richard and Kathy Kettner, Manitowoc, and their children: Robin Dezeeuw and her husband Mark, David Kettner and his wife Sherrie and their children Logan and Lance; Dan and Darlene Kettner, Manitowoc, and their children Deanna Youngchild and her husband Jack and their children Zachary, Britney and Courtney, Doreen Swiekatowski and her husband Bill and their children Trent and Kylie, Dawn Redwine and her husband Dan and their children Sydney, Lila and Frank's Godson Jacob, Robert and Jeanie Kettner, Michigan, and their children Mark Kettner and his wife Rebecca and their children Graysen and Jasper, Melissa Goodrich and her husband Geoff and their children Ian and Elliot; his Godmother: Carrie Barnard; and one uncle: John Gibson. Frank is further survived by other relatives and many friends.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. led by Deacon Paul Kiefer.
