Frances Ellen Thibodeaux DillardBOSSIER CITY, LA - Frances Ellen Thibodeaux Dillard affectionally known as Fran, Frannie, Moma, Grandma, Granfran, and Sister passed away peacefully on October 17, 2017 surrounded by family.Fran was born on October 23, 1948 to Joachim and Gloria Thibodeaux. She was the second child of seven and the only girl. Her brothers always made sure that she was well taken care of and loved her dearly. Fran married Roy Dillard, Jr. on August 18, 1968 and had two children, Amy and Roy, III. Fran had several jobs over the years, but her favorites included being a florist, a bank teller for many local banks, and a pari-mutual clerk for Louisiana Downs. She loved to do crafts and listen to contemporary Christian music. She had many good friends over the years that she adored.Fran donated her body to science in hopes of helping someone else. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church, 1959 Airline Drive, on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at noon. A celebration will follow in the parish hall. Reverend James Flowers, Jr. will officiate.Preceding her in death are her parents, Joachim and Gloria Thibodeaux, her grandson, Adam Klingensmith, several friends and extended family.Left to cherish her memories are her brothers; Michael Thibodeaux (Cheryl), Greg Thibodeaux, Chris Thibodeaux, Ben Thibodeaux (Gail), Eric Thibodeaux (Lori), and Martin Thibodeaux (Judy). Her children, Amy Stroker (Sean) and Roy Dillard, III (Bobbie); grandchildren, William Klingensmith ( Madeline), Joshua Dillard (Christina), and Jonathan Dillard (Samantha); great grandchildren, Crawford Klingensmith, Joshua Dillard, Jr. and another one on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several friends, and other extended family.Fran had been battling cancer off and on since 1970. She fought a brave and valiant fight until the end. She did not wish for us to grieve over her. She wanted us to celebrate her life on earth and her new life in heaven. Fran wanted to be remembered as fun, kind, courageous, loving, and loved. She was comforted by Psalms 23 in her last days and truly feared no evil! She knew that she was going to meet Jesus.
