Florence R. Snyder, age 90, of Marengo died Friday afternoon at Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 29, 1926 in Corning, Ohio the daughter of the late William and Gertie (Mace) Carsner.

She was a member of the Alum Creek Friends church in Marengo where in the past she played an active role.

Florence was artistically inclined and enjoyed painting, doing various crafts, and playing the piano and organ. She played the organ at Sparta United Methodist Church for several years.

Florence was a licensed cosmetologist and owned Tru-Beauty Hair Fashions in Marengo.

She was very proud of and loved her family.

She will be missed by her daughter Jan Deel and her husband Keith of Ashville, Ohio and son Jeff Snyder and his wife Jan of Foxworth, Mississippi; two grandchildren Erin Deel of Columbus and Colleen Deel of Wahpeton, North Dakota; two step-grandchildren Scott Haberman and Karen Haberman; brother Leonard Carsner and his wife Fern of Charleston, South Carolina; sister Martha Young of Marengo; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Bert Davis in 1953; her 2nd husband Stanley Snyder in 2008; brothers, Harold and Dale Carsner; and sister Eileen Rowlen.

Private graveside services will take place at Marengo Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
