Fletcher M. StarkNaples, FLFletcher Milne Stark, 69, of Naples Florida, passed away in peace on 12, November 2016. He was born on October 26th 1947 in South Africa to John and Rosemary Stark. His recent, valiant battle against cancer gave him an extra 5 years and brought profound meaning into his life. He fought resolutely for his health, but also believed that his life's purpose had been fulfilled and that he was free to return home. He leaves behind, his brothers John and Ronnie and sister Merle, as well as a large and treasured collection of cousins, nieces, nephews and their children.Fletcher spent his childhood in South Africa but was an adventurer at heart and at the age of 19, packed his bags, said his farewells and headed off to England. There he studied Business Administration at Newbold College. With degree in hand, Fletch relocated to America where he was married briefly to Judy Ann Socol. He became involved in the hospitality industry, restoring and managing a number of high-end hotels in Washington DC and Miami. Through his work, he forged lasting friendships and befriended various celebrities and politicians including ex-president Truman. Fletcher immersed himself in culture and loved to attend the opera, symphony concerts and the theatre. He had a penchant for the finer things in life but his priority and focus were his friends and family. He was always available to anyone in need, and nothing was too much trouble when it came to helping a friend. His longing to help and to heal the hearts and bodies of others led him to a mid-life career change. He completed a 4 year qualification at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, moved to Florida and proceeded to obtain a number of further qualifications in his new field of expertise. He ran a practice and worked as a volunteer counselor for abused women and children.Fletcher was a refined gentleman, with impeccable taste, a consummate host, and a true friend. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was generous, loyal, dependable, encouraging, kind, compassionate and had the gift of making people feel special. Fletcher made a list of 100 things that he wanted to do in his life. One of these was his desire to help abused children. To fulfill this wish, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation towards South Kolkata Hamari Muskan's, who's mission it is to empower children, vulnerable to trafficking and child abuse.
