Fern Agnes HaylettJuly 7, 1918 - February 24, 2014Fern A. (Cobiskey) Haylett, 95, of Caldwell, formerly of Jordan Valley, Oregon, passed away on Monday, February, 24, 2014 at her residence in Caldwell. Fern was born on July 7, 1918 in Kay County, Oklahoma to Charles and Dennis (Casper) Cobiskey and began her early education there. Her family moved to the Cow Creek area in Oregon in 1927 where she continued her education. In 1935 she moved to Greenleaf, Idaho for a short time. She met her husband, Fred, in Sheaville, Oregon and they were married on December 23, 1935 in Caldwell, Idaho. Fern and Fred lived in Sheaville until Fred's passing in 1974 at which time Fern returned to Caldwell to live. During her life Fern worked as a cook at a café in Jordan Valley, Oregon and then at a cafeteria at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She liked to travel, crochet and be with family. She truly loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.Fern is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, two sisters, a brother and a grand-daughter.Fern is survived by her brother, Gene Cobiskey, Caldwell; children, Fred and Sharon Haylett, Caldwell, Richard and Janiece Haylett, Boise, Barbara Eggleston, Caldwell, Marvin and Barbara Haylett, Payette, Ken and Connie Haylett, Caldwell; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and is also survived by her special friend, Marianne Becker.A special thanks to Accent Hospice and their nurses Carrie, Janet and Brittney for the special care they gave mom.Donations in Fern's name can be made to the Jordan Valley Historical Fund or Accent Hospice.A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, 1:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.Condolences for the family may be left at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
