Frances Joan Watson Fran Watson, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away October 19, 2017. Fran was born on March 17, 1939 to Merl and Lucy Larson in Greeley Colorado. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1956. On her 20th birthday in 1959 she married Dan Watson and they moved to Tacoma, where Fran worked in business and Dan started his teaching career. Dan and Fran welcomed daughters, Maidee in 1960 and Terri in 1961. Fran was a devoted coach's wife and a busy mom, working in PTA and shuttling the girls to many sporting events. In 1973 The Watson Family moved to the Puyallup Valley and added farming to their busy schedule. After years of growing summer crops and working in hobby greenhouses, Watson's Greenhouse and Nursery retail store was opened in 1984. Fran was instrumental along with daughter Maidee in running the store and the growing facilities, while Dan continued his teaching and coaching jobs. Dan retired from teaching in 1990, and in 1993 Terri joined the family at Watson's. Fran and Dan had the opportunity in their life together to travel extensively and enjoy the company of family and friends in their adventures. Fran and Dan visited 40 states in the US, enjoyed 4 trips to Europe, trips to South America including Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Vacations also were spent in Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and the Cook Islands. Two of Fran and Dan's favorite trips were in Australia and New Zealand, travelling to a new town every day. Fran was known to care for all, from Dan's student athletes to friends of her daughters, employees and customers of Watson's, as if they were her own. Her consummate care and concern for all, made her a privilege to know. She was an amazing wife and mother, grandmother and business woman. Fran's love for her family was beyond measure. Fran is survived by her loving husband Dan Watson, daughters Maidee Watson, Terri Elliott and husband Dan, and grandchildren Taylor Gregory, Addison Gregory and wife Brooke, Elliot Gregory and Sophie Elliott. A quote from Fran's friend Jenny, encompasses the woman she was. October 19. Today we lost not "one of the best", not one of the most respected, not one of the most genuine, but the most "one of a kind person I have ever had the privilege to know". We shared an amazing connection as 2 professional females, 2 financially respected business people, 2 Mothers concerned about their children, and 2 good friends who were okay with just being real friends and people.
