Frances McCarthy Collins died on Nov. 7, 2016 at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald W. McCarthy and the late William Collins. Mother of James (Jayne) McCarthy, Roger (Kathleen) McCarthy, and Richard (the late Cindy) McCarthy. Stepmother to Patti (Jerry) Rossler, and Kathie Winandy. Beloved grandmother to Daniel, Kevin, Patrick, Kate, Michael, Megan, and Tim McCarthy, and to Eric Rossler, Kimberly Winandy, and the late Brian Winandy. Great-grandmother to 17. Fran was born on Feb. 22, 1919 to Leo Rogers and Mabel Brown in Boone, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings: Edward, Dorothy, Helen, and Robert Rogers. She was an aunt to many, including several extended families. She was a registered nurse, a great cook, dear friend, and loved by all. She lived to see her Cubbies win the World Series! Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Nov. 19th at St. Theresa Church in Palatine, IL, and interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
