FREMONT — Evelyn Marie Fiddler Shoff Sevits, age 75, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on March 5, 1939, in Huntington, Indiana, to R.T. Fiddler and Doris Eileen (Rupert) Fiddler, and later was adopted by Frank and Nellie (Rupert) Shoff. Evelyn attended Fremont Schools, and later married Edward E. Sevits on October 15, 1955, in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was the co-owner of Sevits Sawmill in Fremont, Indiana, and owned the business from 1968 until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed selling firewood to campers during the summers in Steuben County, she was a member of the Women's Angola Bowling Association and enjoyed bowling, animals, and especially cats. Survivors include her husband, Edward E. Sevits of Fremont, Indiana; two sons, Greg Sevits of Fremont, Indiana, and Michael (Jennifer) Sevits of Angola, Indiana; two daughters, Lori Noble of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Stacy Trausch of Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Shoff; and a son, David "Duck" Sevits on March 31, 2014. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont. Private burial will take place at Covenanter Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
