Evelyn Earlene Huffman, 77, of Sterling passed away Sunday, Oct., 2, 2016, in Greeley's Northern Medical Center. Evelyn was born on Aug. 26, 1939, in Romulus, Mich., to Fletcher and Lillian Bailey. Lillian later married Rev. Ivan Shults, moving the family in 1944 to Iliff and eventually settling in Sterling. In 1979 Evelyn moved her family to Grand Junction until moving back to Sterling in 1997. On July 28, 2001 she married Don Huffman, a long time resident of Sterling. She was preceded in death by Fletcher and Lillian Bailey; Rev. Ivan Shults; sister, Jeannette Matlock; and her precious dachshund dogs. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Don Huffman; children, Tina Easter, Bill Easter, Ron Wade, Kevin Wade, Michele Huffman and Art Wade; sister, Barbara Fling; brother, Monte Shults; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her best friend of 57 years, Shirley Kutchar. Interment at a later date. Memorials can be made to Wounded Warriors, Logan County Humane Society or the Banner Health Hospice in Greeley in her name.
