Eugene Butler StuckiSeptember 5, 1918 - December 1, 2016Eugene Butler Stucki died December 1, 2016 in Logan, Utah. He was 98 years old at the time of his passing. He was born on 5 September 1918 in Paris, Idaho, the oldest of six children of E. Woodruff and Rhea Peterson Stucki. He lived most of his young life in Paris, Idaho He served a mission to the Western States Mission headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Eugene and Leonora Spencer were married on June 6, 1941 in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. He and Leonora were the parents of six children. In 1979 Eugene was appointed by Governor Phil Batt to fill the unfinished term of his brother Willard, who had died, as a State Representative in the Idaho State Legislature. He served a total of nine years. For his final two terms he was the chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, a position he very much enjoyed. Eugene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed being a member of the Bear Lake Stake High Council for nineteen years. Eugene's wife Leonora passed away on 8 February 2000 in Caldwell, Idaho. Eugene married Arlie Graham Findlay on 7 March 2002 in Logan, Utah and became a stepfather to Arlie's seven children. Eugene outlived all of his siblings except his youngest sister. Eugene is survived by his wife Arlie, his children: Spencer (Phyllis) of Chubbuck, ID, Carol (Noel) Burns of Salt Lake City, UT, Reed (Judy) of Mesa, AZ, Jean (John) Kuhns of Sweet Home, OR, Linda (Bob) Butler of Shelley, ID, and Kenneth (Julie) Stucki of Pocatello, ID; a sister Afton (Reed) Bartlett of Kearns, UT; thirty-eight grandchildren, 108 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Also, stepchildren Clive (Rosalyn) Findlay of Ogden, UT; Mark (Susan) Findlay of North Logan, UT; Shauna (Bruce) Moss of Logan, UT; Reed (Joan) Findlay of North Logan, UT; Janalyn (Mike) Strickland of Kissimmee, FL; RaNaun (Gordon) Chase of Richmond, UT and; Brent (Debbie) Findlay of Nibley, UT and their families.Funeral services will be conducted in the Bloomington Ward Chapel Paris, Idaho at 12 noon on December 6, 2016. A viewing will precede the service at 10:00 until 11:45 am and internment will follow the service in the Paris, Idaho City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements will be under the care and direction of Schwab-Matthews Mortuary Montpelier, Idaho.
