Erwin Schmidt1921 - 2013Erwin Schmidt, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Friday, Sept., 2013 at his residence.He was born on Jan. 3, 1921, to the late Adolf and Johanna Schmidt in Germany. He came to Kenosha at the age of five and graduated from Kenosha High School.Erwin entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He was Fireman First Class.On Nov. 1, 1944, he married Amelia Houte in Valparaiso, Ind.Erwin worked at a tool & die maker at Frost Co. then went to Moriarty Manufacturing Co., returning to Frost Co., retiring in 1986.Erwin was a member of the IAM.Erwin enjoyed golfing, taking pictures, fishing, woodworking and loved spending time with his grandkids.Erwin is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years Amelia; his children, Erwin Schmidt of Kenosha, Dennis Schmidt of Indianapolis, Ind., Kathy (Armand) Schonchek of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Kenneth (Nancy) Schmidt of Kenosha; his sister, Marilyn Matarrese of Kenosha, his seven grandchildren and his five great grandchildren.His brothers, Fred and Harold precede him in death.Funeral Services will be private.Bruch Funeral Home3503 Roosevelt RoadKenosha, WI 53142262-652-8298Visit ErwinsOnline Memorial Bookwww.bruchfuneralhome.net
