Bone, Ernest LeeOur father, Ernest Lee Bone, 93, of Green Bay, WI died Thursday, March 2, 2017. He was born on January 28, 1924, in Virginia to Robert L. Bone and Nellie R. Owens.Dad enlisted with the U.S.
Army in 1941 and served until 1946, then served with the
U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1971, during which time he served in WWII, the
Korean War and four tours in Vietnam. He retired at the McGuire Air Force base in New Jersey. His greatest joy was serving his country. In 1951, he started his family of nine children with Theresa Bone. They are - Mary Goulding, Green Bay; Anna (Ron) Ceruti, New Jersey; Ethel Thornberry, Green Bay; Daniel Bone, North Carolina; Virginia Harmon, New Jersey; Richard Bone, Green Bay; David Bone, Green Bay; Donna Bone, Green Bay; and Harold (Alicia) Bone, Illinois. The family also includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren from across the United States.Dad moved to Green Bay in 2008 and became an avid Packers fan, along with cheering on the Brewers while praying for the Cubs victory.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother; the mother of his children, Theresa; two sons-in-law; one grandson; and a multitude of girlfriends, especially wonderful Betty.Friends may call at Fort Howard Memorial Park, 1350 N. Military Ave., Green Bay, WI, from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, followed by a Sharing of Memories at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
