Ermelinda M. Padilla, 89, a resident of El Porvenir, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, in Albuquerque.She was born on Aug. 6, 1926, to Leonardo Maestas and Juanita Alires in El Porvenir.A Catholic, she was a member and Mayordoma of San Antonio Church in El Porvenir. She was also a member of Legion of Mary and Santo Niño Choir and a foster grandparent.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Sabino Padilla; sons: Roy Padilla, Jerry Padilla and Johnny Padilla and granddaughter: Michelle Garcia.She is survived by her daughters: Arabella Garcia and husband, Navor, of Gallinas; Diane Baca and husband, Victor, of Las Vegas; Esther Marrujo and husband, Johnny, of Albuquerque; son: Floyd A. Padilla and wife, Lupe, of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.Rosary services will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted following the rosary, with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant.
