Emily L. Prior O'Brien Emily L. Prior O'Brien, 88, widow of Thomas Francis O'Brien, of Beaufort, SC, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:30am in St. Peter's Catholic Church with interment in Beaufort National Cemetery. Mrs. O'Brien was born on January 18, 1929 in Tampa, FL. She is the daughter of the late Lee Arthur Prior and Mary Jeannette Phillips Prior. Mrs. O'Brien was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a leader of its Adoration Committee, and a member of its Women's Club, Choir and Alzheimer's Family Support Group. Surviving are: two sons, Tommy O'Brien (Sheri) and Francis O'Brien (Lisa) all of Beaufort, SC; five daughters, Jenny Kaufmann (Chris) of Pittsburgh, PA; Irene Goodnight and Anne Ricks (Doyle) all of Beaufort, SC; Katherine O'Brien (Joanne) of Durham, NC; and Marge Cantrell (Marc) of Sidney, OH; four brothers, Everett Prior; Bill Prior; Maurice Prior; Fred Prior; two sisters, Jeannette Koerner and Patricia Gerard; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Ruby Welsh and Jacqueline Ballmer; three brothers, Vernon, Arthur and Herbert Prior.
