Emil J. Bednar1928-2016Emil J. Bednar, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2016. He will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather to all that knew and loved him. He was born on July 18, 1928, in Houston, Texas to Emily (Rusky) Bednar and Vincent Bednar. Emil was an avid WWII history buff and amateur ham radio operator W5UFJ. He retired after a successful career as a patent attorney in 1985 to become a pecan farmer. Emil was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles. Emil is survived by his wife of 61 years, Victoria Bednar; three children, Joseph and wife Louise, of Carrollton, Texas, Reginald and wife MaryAnn of Houston, Texas, Bridget and husband Mark Kelley of Anderson, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 in the Miller Funeral Chapel, 7723 Beechnut Street Houston, Texas 77074. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft Houston, TX 77096 at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a .
