Conley, Emerald MaeEmerald Mae Conley, 96, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at Woodside Lutheran Home, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in the presence of her family.Emerald was born on May 17, 1920 in Green Bay, WI to William and Ottilia (Stika) Van Langendon. She grew up in Green Bay, graduating from West High School in 1938.Emerald married Dick Moger (deceased) in 1942. The couple had one son, Gary, born June 2, 1944. She married Richard Joseph "Dick" Conley on September 29, 1955, in St. Adalbert's Church, Menominee, MI. Emerald and Dick had four children, Dan Conley, Colin Conley, Colleen Tierney and Kevin Conley.As a young girl, Emerald was an eager and talented student of the accordion. She excelled on the instrument, performing locally and regionally for many years, often with her sister Marilyn (Tiny) Johnson accompanying on vocals and guitar. Emerald continued teaching and playing accordion for her entire life. She was a charter member of the N.E.W. Accordion Club, and at one time served on the Board of Directors.Emerald worked for many years at Van's Greenhouse as both a bookkeeper and later as a grower, where she specialized in raising geraniums. In addition to music and gardening Emerald loved the outdoors and travel. She is survived by her brother, John (Marilyn) Van Langendon, Green Bay; her sister, Pat (Gene) Pezon, Indian River, MI; her children: Dan (Lisa Hindbjorgen) Conley, Minneapolis, MN; Colin (Cathy Stute) Conley, Monrovia, CA; Colleen Tierney, Lewis Center, OH; and Kevin Conley, Green Bay; grandchildren, Christopher Tierney (Nicci), Jesse Tierney (fiancée, Amy Spellacy), Richard Tierney, Meaghan (Nick) Shuman; and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Shuman.Emerald was preceded in death by her son, Gary Conley; husband, Richard Conley; and sister, Marilyn Johnson, Prescott Valley, AZ.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 23. A reception will immediately follow 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, 2600 Larsen Road, Green Bay. Musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the N.E.W. Accordion Club of Green Bay.
