La Joya - Elva Martinez, 85, entered in to eternal rest on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Mission Reginal Medical Center, in Mission, Texas. Mrs. Martinez was born on January 16, 1931, to Mr. Nieves Garcia and Mrs. Otila Garza in San Pedro, Texas.Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her husband Raul Martinez Sr. her son Raul Martinez Jr., Roy Martinez and her daughter Rosalinda Martinez. Left to cherish her memory is her loving children, Amanda Hernandez, Ruben Martinez, Thelma Gonzalez, Rogelio Martinez, Romeo Martinez, and Rosalva Martinez also her 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and her brother, Eddie Garcia. Family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm today Monday, December 5, 2016 with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in La Joya. Interment will follow at La Joya Cemetery in La Joya.
