Hagglund, Elmer J.Elmer J. Hagglund, Combined Locks, was called to his eternal home on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 91. He was born on August 7, 1925 in Purmo, Finland to the late Alfred and Maria (Nilson) Hagglund. Elmer was drafted into the Finnish Army in 1943 at the age of 17 and served until the end of World War II in 1945. On June 12, 1955 he married Maj-Lis Johnsson. They immigrated by boat to America in July, 1958. Elmer worked in building and construction his whole life. He most recently worked for O.J. Boldt Construction, retiring in 1988. Elmer was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Combined Locks and served the church in many ways. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and sang in the MacDowell Men's Choir for 6 years. Elmer was always helping his children with projects around their houses. Elmer is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maj-Lis; three children: Steven (Doris) Hagglund, Freedom and their children Dana (Steven) Jahr, Jennifer (Nicholas) Haen and Paul Hagglund; Lynn (Gary) Holcomb, Kaukauna and their children Carly (Michael) Holcomb, Cory (Katie) Holcomb and Courtney (Estin) Holcomb; David (Christina) Hagglund, Darboy and their children Cody and Brianna; great grandchildren: Macy, Lauren, Morgan, Ezra, Adelyn and another on the way in July; sister Birgit Mattson, Menasha and her family; Godson Gary Mattson, Readfield; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends in America, Canada, Sweden and Finland.He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH (601 S. Washington St. Combined Locks) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev.
