Ellis Lucas "Pete" Tuck, 83 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Friday, May 12, 1933 in Bedford County, a son of the late Early Lay Tuck and Hattie Hines Tuck. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirlene Dellis Tuck. He was owner and operator of Tuck Plumbing & Heating, was a member of Palestine Baptist Church and was a U. S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Vernelle Johnson Tuck; his sons, Vincent L. Tuck and wife, Robyn of Huddleston, Darrell L. Tuck of Huddleston; his daughters, Sharon T. Dinwiddie and husband, Randy of Huddleston, Anita T. Cromer and husband, Jonathan of Roanoke; three step-children; his grandchildren, Brad Davis Dinwiddie, DeAnna Renee Dinwiddie, Addie Snow Tuck, Robert Ellis Lee Tuck, Micah Cade Tuck, Jonah Early Tuck, Bethany Jordan Russ, Brittney Renee Tuck, Joshua Lucas Tuck, Megan Nicole Cromer, Jacob R. Cromer; his great-grandchildren, Savanna Dinwiddie, Kylee Dinwiddie, Jon Tucker Dinwiddie, Addison Russ as well as his brothers, Jackie Tuck of Huddleston, Junior Tuck of Leesville and his sister, Elton Mayhew of Moneta. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104. Funeral services were held at 11 AM on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at Palestine Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin King and Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment followed in Palestine Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
