BURLINGTON - Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Meininger, age 91, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Aurora Memorial Hospital in Burlington surrounded by family. Betty was born on August 9, 1921 in Milwaukee, to the late Albert R. and Mayme (nee Meyers) Treder. She spent her early life and received her education in Racine. Betty had been a resident of Burlington since 1993 and was a member of Honey Creek Baptist Church and the Western Racine County Republican Women's Club. She was a former member of the Burlington Women's Club. Betty volunteered twice a month at the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, swimming, flying, butterflies and nature. Betty loved life and lived it to the fullest. She went parasailing when she was 65 and flew in a light weight plane when she was 70. Survivors include her loving children; Robert Meininger, Michael (Lynn) McTrusty, Linda Mathos, Nancy (Charles) Horn and Thomas Meininger, and by grandchildren; Leah Mathos and Carrie (Simon) Griffeth, Katie, Robert "Bob" and Amanda Horn, Beth Meininger and Matthew McTrusty. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Honey Creek Baptist Church, 35512 Washington Avenue, Honey Creek, WI 53138. Inurnment will take place following the service at Honey Creek Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the CHURCH on Saturday, from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials have been suggested to the Honey Creek Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for all the wonderful care they gave to Betty.
