HARTLEY, ELIZABETH, 82 Elizabeth Jean Hartley, aged 82, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2016. Beth was born on June 28, 1934, in Annapolis, Maryland, the daughter of Arthur and Jean Binney. Beth thoroughly enjoyed being active in her community. She was an active member of St. Faith's Episcopal Church in its' earliest years and St. Philips Episcopal Church until her death. She was a librarian at St. Philip School and Palmer Trinity School where she worked at restoring the library after hurricane Andrew. She worked for the Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida for many years as the cookie chairman and volunteered as a leader. She also served as President of the Coconut Grove Women's club where she rejuvenated the club adding many new members. Beth attended Vassar College from 1952-1954 and graduated from University of Miami in 1956. Beth is survived by her husband Carol Hartley; sons Forrest Hartley and Stephen Hartley and Daughters Bonnie Mann and Lynne Butts; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and close friends. There will be a Funeral Service held at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 1121 Andalusia Ave. Coral Gables Fl 33134 at 11:00 am on Tuesday 11/15. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to St. Philips Episcopal Church.
