Elizabeth Faye NolenKnoxville, TNElizabeth "Faye" Nolen, 89, of Knoxville, TN, a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2017, at Morning Pointe of Powell. She was born on July 4, 1927, in Nashville, TN, and graduated from Hillsboro High School in1945. She married the love of her life, Ed Nolen, on September 28, 1946. They lived a love story from the ages of 15 and 16. Faye loved the Lord and had a fierce love for her family. She was devoted to caring for her children, especially, "my sweet Pam". She was an avid University of Tennessee fan and had some very loud and strong opinions about plays and officiating. She loved her grandchildren and was always excited to hear what was happening in their lives. She had a gift for loving unconditionally and didn't judge. Unless you wanted and honest opinion, you didn't dare ask. She leaves a legacy of kindness, compassion and a love of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavena and William Bomar, Sr.; brothers, Jack, Bill and Bob Bomar; husband, Ed Nolen; daughter, Pamela Nolen; grandson, Matthew Cooper; and great-grandson, Zane Bruhin. She is survived by children, Linda (Gregg) Rieth, Ken (Judy) Nolen, Karen (late Dennis) Cooper, and Richard (Lindsay) Nolen; grandchildren, James Rieth, Natalie (John) Bruhin, Steve Rieth, Jennifer (Brien) Stewart, Michael Nolen, Robert Nolen, Emily Nolen and Kaylie Nolen; great-grandchildren, John N. (Susie) Bruhin, Noah Bruhin, Caiden and Dylan Cooper, Taylor, Conner and Bryce Stewart, Eric and Keyten Rieth. Honorary family members and caregivers; Sonya Cox, Sherry Collins and Kathy Marlow.The family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Greenwood Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service, with Dr. David Crutchley, officiating.
