Elizabeth Ann SvensonStuart, FLElizabeth Ann Svenson passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.She was born on November 14, 1938 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Steven and Madeline Rusnak. While she was born and raised in New Jersey, Elizabeth was a resident of South Florida since 1990.Betty, as most knew her, is survived by her husband Harry of 60 years, her four children, Harry, Steven, Robert and Susanne and her two daughters in law, Lisa and Barbara. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Cole, Kerilyn, Brittani, Lexi, Robbie, Erin, Ryan and Stevie Ray, as well as her two great granddaughters, Mikayla and Karleigh and a great grandson on the way. She is also survived by her two sisters Jean and Lynn and three brothers, Jim, Bobby and Steve, her three sisters in law Joan, Kathy and Terri, as well as many nieces and nephews.Betty worked as an Administrative Assistant at a local chiropractor's office while in New Jersey after raising her children, and ended her 20 year career at Martin Memorial Health Systems in Stuart, Florida as a Lead Scheduler. After retirement, Betty dedicated herself to spending time with her husband Harry, who had been retired for a few years. The two were inseparable and still madly in love with one another.Anyone who knew Betty and Harry knew their true passion was in spending time with their family, both in New Jersey and in Florida. Betty didn't miss an event when it came to her children and grandchildren, often running from baseball field to soccer field to see it all. Most of all, Betty (A.K.A Mom-Mom), was extraordinary. She was selfless and giving, funny and generous. She will always be remembered for being a special wife, mom, mom- mom, sister, aunt and friend.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted in the care of Martin Funeral Home and Crematory.
