Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" A. Kubacki, 76, of Ubly, passed away Sunday Nov. 13, 2016, at her residence while under hospice care after a short battle with cancer.She was born on Jan. 23, 1940, in Minden City, to the late Adolph and Adella (Messing) Vogel. She married Eugene F. Kubacki on May 6, 1961, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2011, after 50 years of marriage.Betty was a graduate of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in Ruth. She worked for the late Dr. E.C. Holdship for over 25 years before she retired. She was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Catholic Church in Ubly where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. Her talents were appreciated by her family and many others. Betty cherished spending time with family and friends.Betty is survived by her six children, Michele (Richard) Jackson of Ubly, Lorie Johnson (special friend, Bill Farmer) of Georgia, Doug (Margaret) Kubacki of Tennessee, Julie (Ken) Bushoven of New Jersey, Deanna (Peter) Herrington of Tennessee, Joseph (Valerie) Kubacki of Bad Axe; 15 grandchildren, Kathi (Jason) Keys, Traci (Matt) Kuhl, Stephani Jackson, Jeff (Rosemary) Sample, Chesney Sample (special friend, Joshua Lessing) Meghan Kubacki, Shawn Kubacki (special friend, Angela Behnke), Connor Bushoven, Grant Bushoven, Danielle Herrington, Eric Herrington, Tiffany (Sean) Schwartz, Jeff Herrington, Brandon Kubacki and Emily Kubacki; seven great-grandchildren, Ciatilyn and Rihanna Keys, Jaxon and Ramzee Kuhl, Lance and Mariah Sample, Brantley Kubacki; five sisters, Mary (Lavern) Shemka, Evelyn (Roger) Stolicker, Catherine Cleveland, Theresa (Thomas) Kahlo, Carol Osborne; three brothers, Arthur Vogel, John (Elaine) Vogel, Frank (Nancy) Vogel; eight sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Vogel, Virginia Vogel, Patricia Vogel, Beatrice (Elmer) Micklash, Frances Polega, Eleanor (Ralph) Fligger, Jeanette (Robert) Skipinski, Delores Kubacki; three brothers-in-law, Jerome Kolar, Anthony (MaryAnn) Kubacki and Edward (Deloris) Kubacki.She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Lance Sample and Tony Johnson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Mary Kubacki; two sisters, Ann Vogel and Lucille Kolar; four brothers, Bill, Anthony, Charles and Lawrence Vogel; sisters-in-law, Kate Vogel, Ruth Vogel, Christina Eilers, Rose Smith and Delphine Kubacki; brothers-in-law, Ralph Osborne, Felix Kubacki, August Kubacki, Felix Polega, George Smith, Alvin Eilers and Donald Krawaczyk.Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Church.
