LAURINBURG — Elise Coates Gause, 71, passed away on May 31, 2014 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. The Rev. Michael Edds and the Rev. Woody Pierce will officiate the services.
Elise was born on Sept. 28, 1942 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Boyd Coates Sr. and Annie Mae Woodell Coates. She was a devoted homemaker and retired from Charles Craft Incorporated after many years of service. She was a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church where she loved caring for the children in the church nursery. She enjoyed gardening and loved sharing her time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by brothers Boyd "Pete" Coates, Jr. and Franklin Coates and sisters Lillian C. Stanley and Beatrice C. Wieland.
Elise is survived by her husband George D. Gause of the home, son Timothy "Timmy" Dail Douglas of Laurinburg, her daughters Kimberly Kirkland of Laurinburg and Dawn Gause Scott and husband Buddy Scott of Laurinburg, brother Richard Coates and wife Patsy of Laurinburg, sisters Dot Pittman and husband Jack of Laurinburg, Euldeen "Lady" Baber and husband the Rev. Ken Baber of Surfside Beach, S.C., five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
