Everson, EleanorEleanor M. Everson age 97 of Amherst, WI, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017 with her granddaughters at her side. Eleanor was born on March 11, 1919 the daughter of John and Selma (Boelter) Hetzel, the youngest of six children. At a very early age, Eleanor learned the values of deep faith, hard work, and strong family love.Eleanor married the late Norris Everson on October 9, 1940. Together they had three children. They owned and operated the Sinclair filling station in Amherst from 1948 to 1971. When Norris passed away in 1965, Eleanor continued to run the station with the help of her son, John, never afraid of getting her hands dirty. Eleanor was a skilled seamtress and spent many hours quilting (and drinking coffee!) with the Do Group at Peace Lutheran Church. Many are warm because of Eleanor's stitches of love. Eleanor had a wicked sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved to laugh. She had a heart of gold and was always taking care of others, always putting her needs last. Eleanor loved dogs, gardening, quilting, sunshine, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, black and white movies, and most of all, her family. She will be deeply missed by many.Eleanor is survived by her children John Everson of Amherst, WI, Larry (Nadine) Everson of Amherst, WI and Ellen (Richard) Kominowski of Shiocton, WI; five grandchildren Joan (Ken) Wisneski of Clintonville, WI, Bobi (Al) Boyles of Amherst, WI, John (Kelly) Everson II of Amherst, WI, David (Angie) Arneson of Seymour, WI, and Christopher (Bobbie) Arneson of Shiocton, WI; five great grandchildren Rachel and Erin Wisneski, Logan and Lana Arneson and Collin Arneson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents John and Selma Hetzel; her husband Norris Everson; three brothers Lyle, Lee and Arden Hetzel and two sisters Irene Yates and Dorothy Gibson.A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
