WILSONEleanor A. Eleanor A. Wilson, 95, passed away, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, Ohio. She was born on November 12, 1921 to William P. and Louise A. (Monnett) Bennett in Toledo, Ohio.She was a 1939 graduate of Whitmer High School. She married Marion L. Mike Wilson on April 11, 1941 and they celebrated 71 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Mike and Elly first met in third grade at Wernert Elementary School and were senior prom dates at Whitmer. Shortly after their marriage, Mike was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Europe during
WWII.During the war years, Elly worked at war plants, Army stores and Packard Motor Car Company. She wrote letters to Mike nearly every day while he was away for three years. Prior to Mike's Army service, they had started building a home at 19 and 20 years of age. They decided this was the career they loved and eventually built hundreds of homes in the Toledo area through M.L. Wilson Builder. Elly was secretary and bookkeeper for the firm and managed The Wilson Building, a professional office complex in the Trilby, Ohio area.Elly was a past president of the Women's Club of the former Toledo Association of Home Builders.She is survived by daughters, Kathy (Rich) Troxel and Janet (Scott) Wenland, all of Sylvania, Ohio. She was very proud of her grandchildren who called her Nana, Dr. Tiffany Troxel (Nish Shah), Dr. Jennifer (Mike) Ruddy, Dr. Tara (Scott) Amenson and Andrew (Lindsay) Wenland. She had five great-grandchildren.Elly was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Daggett and Marcia Stichler. She is survived by special nieces, nephews and dear friends.Private services for the family have been held. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church, 3215 Douglas Rd., Toledo, Oh 43606.The family would like to thank the caring staff at Kingston Residence of Sylvania where Eleanor resided since 2010 and Pastor Craig Scholl, his wife Peggy and their canine companion, Tara, who visited on a regular basis.Arrangements were handled by Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, OH.
