Larry and Elaine enjoyed dancing together which formed the basis for a more serious relationship.  On their first date, Larry took Elaine to the "Argonne Ball Room" and did not get Elaine home until 3 am much to the displeasure of Elaine's parents.  Elaine attended her senior prom escorted by her future husband and after the prom she and Larry went to the Todd Theater and attended a stage show staring Gypsy Rose Lee.  Her high school annual describes her as "Likes: dancing and more dancing; Ambition: professional dancer: Shapely, sweet, dancing feet."After graduation from high school, she attended Moser Collage, a six-month business collage, in downtown Chicago.  After graduation from Moser, Elaine was employed by the regional sales office of Tampax, Inc. until she was married to her husband Larry.  Elaine and Larry were married in Chicago on Saturday, December 5, 1942, while Larry was on a weekend pass from the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.  Elaine's wedding gown was a white suit, trimmed in red, with a white pill box hat.  Elaine lived in thirteen different places off base from Great Lakes during the war until Larry was discharged from the Navy on November 12, 1945.  Elaine gave birth to their first child, Larry Leonard Schultz on March 18, 1944.   The family lived with Elaine's parents after Larry's Naval discharge.  Cathy Sue Schultz was born on March 27, 1946.  The family moved to a house at 4254 North Overhill Avenue just outside the Chicago City limits on the Memorial Day weekend 1946 and Larry worked for Western Electric.    After about two and half years, Larry had a promotion dispute with his employer, so the family sold their house in Chicago and moved to 601 De Soto Drive in Miami Springs, Florida near Elaine's sister Grace.  The family attended Grace Lutheran Church in Miami Springs while Larry worked for Electrolux until his retirement.  Elaine worked for the Grace Lutheran as church secretary while raising their two children.  After a number of years at the church, she began working for Eastern Airlines in the inflight services department in 1966 until she retired in 1981. In 1981 they moved to Levitt Park in Rockledge to be near their son's family.  The Schultz family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church and School on Fiske Boulevard.  Elaine worked part time for the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office in a Rockledge precinct during elections.  Eventually she become in charge of managing an entire precinct on election day.  She volunteered at the local senior center and became in charge of the travel desk.  Larry and Elaine's mother both died in 1991.  Elaine moved to the Carmel condominiums in 2003.  While living at Carmel she served on the condo Board of Directors for several years, including serving as an officer.A celebration of life service will be held on February 11, 2017 at 2 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 1330 South Fiske Blvd, in Rockledge.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
