Elaine Ann Lequia RACINE – Elaine Ann “Chip” (nee: Hanson) Lequia, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Lakeshore Manor. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on July 2, 1924, the daughter of the late John Peter and Ella (nee: Berg) Hanson. On June 29, 1946, Elaine was united in marriage to William J. Lequia in Racine. They celebrated 51 years of marriage prior to his passing. She found great enjoyment in knitting, playing cards, cake decorating, and bowling and was a member of a Parkinson Support Group. Elaine is survived by her son, Gary (Denise) Lequia of Racine and daughter, Linda (Bernie) Williams of Lake Geneva; grandchildren, Becky (Ryan) Derrick of Lake Geneva, Lisa Lequia of Racine, Dan Lequia of Las Vegas, NV and John Lequia of Racine; three great-grandchildren, Mya Lequia of Racine, Emma Derrick and William Derrick both of Lake Geneva. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, Richard (Mary Jane) Lequia, Fred (Mary) Lequia, sister-in-law, Beverly Scholzen, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, William on November 18, 1997, sister Elinor Hanson in 1938, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. 6th Street on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5 until 7 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Elaine will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park.
