Houda, Eilene D. Eilene D. Houda, our beloved Mom & "Grammy", died peacefully on August 19th, 2017 in Mesa, AZ while surrounded by the love and comfort of her six children and daughter-in-law. (Karen Zarkos, James Houda, Richard Houda, Laura Houda, Kevin Houda and his wife Eve, and Amy McKillip.) Eilene was born on November 15th, 1929 in Berwyn, IL, where she was raised along with her 5 brothers. In 1950 she married the love of her life, James Houda, who preceded her in death. They moved to Arizona in 1969. Eilene is not only survived by her six children, but was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Eilene was the heart, love and light of her family and extended family, and her amazing energy and kindness brightened the day of every soul she met. After a long journey with Alzheimer's disease, there is peace in knowing that Eilene has been restored by the Lord and is once again holding hands with her love. We will miss her presence, but will treasure the memories. As an original founder of the Church of the Resurrection, her visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at her home church, 3201 S.
